At Palmetto Electric Cooperative, safety awareness is a top priority. Electricity is an integral part of our daily lives, but we understand how dangerous it can be if not used responsibly.
Everyone has a part to play in prioritizing safety, and it is our goal to not only keep our employees safe, but to also educate our members about the potential dangers and hazards associated with electricity. That’s why we provide safety resources online and host safety demonstrations for children in local community events, camps and schools throughout the year.
This summer, Palmetto Electric’s safety mascot, Linny the Lineman, is back and ready to teach children how to “Play it Safe” at Virtual Safety Days! The 4th Annual Virtual Safety Days program will be held July 26-28, online at palmetto.coop or on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
Linny and his friends from the community will be sharing videos and daily activities covering a variety of safety topics including electrical safety, fire safety, storm safety, and more. We encourage you to talk with your children about playing it safe around electricity and make plans to join us as we take the fun online with Virtual Safety Days!
