PET and WIRE Announce 2026 Scholarship Recipients
Palmetto Electric Trust (PET) and Women Involved in Rural Electrification (WIRE) have announced the recipients of their 2026 scholarships, recognizing local high school seniors for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to continuing their education.
Through member donations to Operation Round Up, Palmetto Electric Trust awarded four scholarships to deserving students from the cooperative’s service area. PET, the volunteer board that administers Operation Round Up funds, established the scholarship program to help qualified students pursue educational opportunities beyond high school.
The PET scholarship program includes awards of up to $5,000 per year for four consecutive years at a four-year university or college, and up to $3,000 per year for students attending two-year technical colleges.

WIRE Scholarship Recipient
WIRE awarded its annual $1,000 scholarship to Skylar Badger, a graduating senior from Hardeeville Junior Senior High School. Each year, WIRE recognizes a deserving senior living in southern Beaufort, Jasper or Hampton counties. Palmetto Electric Cooperative and WIRE congratulate Skylar on her hard work and dedication, and look forward to seeing all she accomplishes in the future.
